Front Porch: Council meeting, scholarships, club meeting

Mill Creek meeting: The Snohomish County Council has planned another meeting outside of Everett. The council’s regular Monday meeting on April 24 has been moved to 6 p.m. at Mill Creek City Hall, 15728 Main St. The council met last month in Edmonds.

Voters in November approved Proposition 5, which requires the council to hold an evening meeting in each of the county’s districts at least once a year.

Mill Creek is within District 4, represented by Councilman Terry Ryan. It also includes Mountlake Terrace, Brier, part of Bothell and nearby unincorporated areas.

People have the chance to comment during every regular County Council meeting.

Scholarships: The American Association of University Women Stanwood Camano branch offers two scholarships of $4,000 each to young women from the Stanwood-Camano School District who are entering or continuing their post-secondary studies. The deadline to apply is May 15. More information is available through the Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation, at s-caf.org.

Club meeting: The Camano Island Women’s Republican Club meets April 25 at noon for their monthly meeting. Members plan to gather at the Lost Lake Clubhouse, 1469 Lake Drive. For more information, call Virginia Collins at 360-403-8743.
