Fly-fishers flock
The Northwest Fly Fishing Show featuring fly-tiers, casting demonstrations and seminars is planned for Feb. 16-17 at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th Street SW.
The event also will feature the International Fly Fishing Film Festival, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. the first night of the show. According to International Fly Fishing Film Festival producers, “the showing will consist of short and feature-length films produced by professional and amateur filmmakers from all corners of the globe, showcasing the passion, lifestyle and culture of fly fishing.”
The Fly Fishing Show hours are 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Feb. 16 and 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Feb. 17. Tickets cost $15 for one day or $25 for a two-day pass. Prices vary for children, active military and Scouts under 16 in uniform.
Film festival tickets are $15; $10 with admission to the Fly Fishing Show.

Take a practice SAT: For those feeling a little nervous about SATs and the college admissions process, the Mukilteo Library is here to help.
Along with Sylvan Learning, the library is offering a free practice SAT from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 23. Taking a practice SAT will help students pinpoint areas of success and areas that require extra practice before taking the real exam.
Results will be distributed at the Test Stress seminar at 7 p.m. Feb. 27.
