Learn about livestockSpring livestock-adviser training begins Feb. 17 at Stanwood High School. The Washington State University Extension program aims to give people knowledge and confidence to raise beef, sheep, goats, poultry, swine and rabbits, either traditionally or organically.
Topics include soils, forage production, fencing, pasture management, weeds and mud. Farm tours are included.
The 10-week program costs $225, and a second person from the same farm or family may attend at no additional cost.

Lynnwood rec guide redesigned: This spring, the Lynnwood Recreation Guide will sport a new look and offer community advertising. The publication is the city’s quarterly resource for recreation programming. Revenue from advertising will support parks and recreation programs.
The guide is mailed four times a year to every Lynnwood household as well as to selected ZIP codes in Bothell, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace and Brier.
