MLK Jr. Day is Monday, so here’s a list of places that are closed:
Government: Federal, state and county government offices are closed. City offices such as Everett, Marysville, Stanwood, Mountlake Terrace and Monroe are closed.
Garbage recollection: Clients should expect regular service.
Schools: Closed.
Post offices: Closed.
Commerce: Most banks are closed.
The Herald: Normal hours.
Transportation: Local Community Transit is on regular schedule, but some commuter routes are suspended. Sound Transit Express buses are on their regular schedule. There is no Sounder train service between Everett and Seattle. Everett Transit is on a regular schedule.

Looking for photos of eagles: The city of Arlington and the Arlington Arts Council are seeking photographs of eagles for the upcoming Arlington-Stillaguamish Eagle Festival on Feb. 4.
Photographers are encouraged to submit their best eagle photograph with potential to win a $100 cash prize, and artists of all media are encouraged to enter up to five pieces of nature art.
A people’s choice award of $100 also will be presented. If poetry is your passion, submit a poem about nature to the Eagle Festival Poetry Contest. Youth and adults are welcome to participate in all categories. Poetry prizes are $50 or $25 for second place.
Entries must be delivered to Magnolia Hall, up the street from City Hall, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Feb. 3. For more information, go to www.arlingtonwa.gov/eaglefest.
