Solar panel workshop
A free workshop for homeowners to learn to install solar panels is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Edmonds Lutheran Church, 23525 84th Ave. W in Edmonds. Those who attend the program qualify for a free site assessment for their home or small business. This is the second and final time the program will be offered at the church, Pastor Tim Oleson said. The program is sponsored in part by the Northwest Sustainable Energy for Economic Development and the Snohomish County PUD.
Tour schools in Lake Stevens: Parents can see where and what their kids are learning in the Lake Stevens School District during a half-day tour Wednesday.
Superintendent Amy Beth Cook plans to lead parents through Glenwood Elementary School and Cavelero Mid High School. Classes will be in session during the tour so parents can see the classroom environment and meet teachers and other staff.
The tour group will meet at the district’s Educational Service Center, 12309 22nd St. NE, for breakfast and a presentation about the school district at 9 a.m. The tour starts at 9:30 a.m., with a stop at Glenwood Elementary and later a trip by bus to Cavelero Middle School. After lunch at Cavelero, the tour is expected to finish at 1 p.m.
