Drivers who use the westbound Highway 522 off-ramp to West Main Street in Monroe should be prepared for an overnight closure of the ramp Monday. The closure is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. A short section of West Main Street, between Fryelands Boulevard and the east roundabout, also will close, at 10 p.m. Both the ramp and West Main Street are to reopen by 5 a.m. Tuesday.
During the closure contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will continue work on a new roundabout on the west side of Highway 522.
Boat parade coming up: The Mukilteo Yacht Club’s Opening Day of Boating festivities will be held May 2 at the Port of Everett. The day’s activities include a blessing of the fleet, a decorated boat parade, and free boat inspections.
Local boaters are invited to participate. To register, contact Don or Lynne Dauenhauer at opening.day.2015@gmail.com or 206-579-9139. There is a Seahawks theme and prizes will be awarded for the best decorated boats.
The public can view the parade — which starts at noon from Everett — from many shore-side locations between the Port of Everett and Mukilteo Lighthouse.
