Support family of teen
The Granite Falls School District is helping organize a fundraiser for the family of a teenager killed in a crash this week. William L. Arroyo-Ramirez, of Lake Stevens, was 17. He attended Crossroads High School.
A spaghetti feed fundraiser for the boy’s family is planned from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Eagles club, 402 N. Granite Ave., Granite Falls. The Lake Stevens Haggens, where Arroyo-Ramirez worked, is donating the food for the fundraiser. An online fundraiser and details of a memorial service may be announced at a later date.
Choral concert set: The Lutheran Choral Association of Snohomish County is hosting their 3rd annual concert at 7 p.m. Sunday. The performance is to be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 9320 Meadow Way, Everett. The Evergreen Community Orchestra is to accompany the choir on several songs. Donations to support the choir program will be accepted at the concert.
Get child seats checked: Next week is Child Passenger Safety Week and most child safety seats aren’t used correctly. Conduct a free car seat safety check at www.safercar.gov/parents. Kristen Thorstenson, of Snohomish County, was honored recently by the state as an outstanding instructor for parents on the topic, according to a news release from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.
