Terrace Creek Park to grow
Mountlake Terrace’s City Council approved the purchase of a three-acre parcel of undeveloped land adjacent to Terrace Creek Park, using $270,000 in grant funds from Snohomish County’s Conservation Futures Program.
The Harms family owned the property for many years. Ken Harms was a former Mountlake Terrace Recreation and Parks director in the 1960s. Jo Harms said it was the family’s wish to use the land as open space for the city and be protected from development.
Terrace Creek Park, also known as “Candy Cane Park,” is a 60-acre park located on 48th Avenue, north of 236th Street SW to 221st Street. It is the largest park in Mountlake Terrace.
Support CASA: The CASA car wash will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 20 at the Camano Plaza parking lot, 370 NE Camano Drive, Camano Island. There will be a pet food drive at the same time. All proceeds benefit CASA, the Camano Animal Shelter Association.

No fireworks in Lynnwood: City officials are reminding residents that discharging fireworks, even the “safe and sane” variety, is not legal within city limits.
