See Tow Mater
Moviegoers can see a life-size replica of Tow Mater from the Disney/Pixar “Cars” movies today from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Galaxy Monroe Theatre at 1 Galaxy Way in Monroe. The Disney/Pixar movie “Cars 2
” opens today in theaters.
The drivable Tow Mater was built by Jack Walkley, Ray Brown and Erik Davidson. The truck is also set to be on display Saturday from 4 to 9:30 p.m. at the Evergreen Speedway, 14405 179th Ave. SE. in Monroe. Bring your camera to get a photo with the tow truck.
Fill-The-Boot: Firefighters will be stationed by Costco in Everett today and Saturday to collect money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Retire flags: Fleet Reserve Association Branch 170 offers a flag retirement ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday at 6729 Beverly Blvd. in Everett.
Six American flags will be burned. There will be an honor guard from Naval Station Everett with representatives from the Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Corps. The ceremony will last about 30 minutes.
Chicken is served: Stillaguamish Senior Center offers its monthly chicken dinner and entertainment at noon Sunday at the center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd.
Cost is $8, $5 for children and $7 for seniors. Dinner includes chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, coleslaw and a roll.
Proceeds go to senior center programs. Volunteers are needed to help serve.
