Veterans job fair today in Marysville: Naval Station Everett Fleet and Family Support Center will host a biannual Veterans Job Fair today from 10 a.m.-2p.m. at their Smokey Point Totem Recreation Center, 13922 45th Ave, Marysville. All veterans and their family members are welcome to attend. The event has been held for the past five years in partnership with Snohomish County Worksource Veterans Unit and National Guard and Army Reserve. More than 50 employers, who are interested in hiring veterans and their families, are expected to participate.

Prepare or donate bikes for kids: Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop is preparing for its next Kids Bike Swap on June 8 and is holding a series of work parties in preparation. The next work party is set for 6-9 p.m. April 10. No skills required and free snacks.
The nonprofit also seeks donations of lightly used kid’s bicycles, especially 20-inch and 24-inch wheeled bikes. Sharing Wheels is at 2525 Broadway in Everett.

Lake monitors needed: Interested in the health of your neighborhood lake? Snohomish County Surface Water Management seeks volunteers to collect water quality samples and record data this summer for one of the following lakes: Bryant, Cassidy, Chain, Meadow, Riley and Wagner.
Training and equipment will be provided except for a boat and anchor. Volunteers only need to commit a few hours each month from May through October.
