Won’t you be a good neighbor?
Through February, folks can bring slightly used or new sweaters to The Herald lobby for the “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” Sweater Drive.
Children’s TV personality Fred Rogers died in 2003 of stomach cancer.
KCTS and Northwest Harvest will collect sweaters from The Herald lobby, 1213 California St., Everett, and The Enterprise Newspapers lobby, 4303 198th St. SW, Lynnwood. Both lobbies are open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays.
Sneak a peek at the X-Craft
The Navy’s new X-Craft is expected to pull into Everett sometime Saturday.
You might get a peek from area hillsides: Train your binoculars toward the waterfront alumina dome south of the Naval Station Everett pier.
The double-hulled aluminum catamaran is 262 feet long and carries a crew of 16 sailors and 10 Coast Guardsmen. The experimental vessel was built by Nichols Brothers Boat Builders in Freeland, and will stay in Everett for finishing work.
The X-Craft will be turned over to the Navy at the end of April and will be based in San Diego.
Learn about pioneer women
