Everett residents tell story to Oprah
Everett residents Bartley Stokes Sr. and Brenda Litzo will appear on Tuesday’s “Oprah Winfrey Show.”
Herald writer Christina Harper told the couple’s story in The Herald on Sept. 28.
They met in the late 1970s at Edmonds High School, fell in love and had a son. The baby was placed for adoption, and the couple went their separate ways. In January 2004 they reunited and began the search for their son. A chance meeting helped locate the son she and Stokes had kept in their hearts for more than two decades.
Oprah airs at 4 p.m. Tuesday on KING-TV.
