Another way to recycle computers
If you want a handy way to recycle old computers, and you would rather not pay the prices at landfills, take your equipment to an area Staples store.
For $10, which will be donated to a local school, the store will accept computers, monitors or laptops through Saturday.
Red Cross calls movie a motivator
Sunday and Monday, KING-TV aired “10.5” about a West Coast earthquake.
Coni Conner, disaster services manager for the Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross, says while that magnitude of quake in the Northwest is said to be impossible, folks should be prepared in case of an earthquake.
For more information, visit the Red Cross at 2530 Lombard Ave., Everett.
Herald is looking for good news
The Herald is expanding its Celebrations announcements to twice a week, Wednesdays and Sundays, so here’s an open invitation to share the joyous moments in your life with your neighbors, family and friends.
We’re looking for your announcements about weddings, adoptions, retirements, engagements, anniversaries and other milestone celebrations. We’re also offering you more space to tell your stories.
Beginning May 12, Celebrations announcements will be added to the local news section on Wednesdays. In addition, one lucky celebrant or couple will be chosen for a new Wednesday feature called “Love Story.” Of course, we’ll continue to have Celebrations in the Sunday paper, too.
To find out how to get your free celebrations announcement in The Herald and how your story can be a Herald “Love Story,” call Christina Harper at 425-339-3432.
Correction
Smoking is allowed in the lounge at Evergreen Lanes and Restaurant, 5111 Claremont Way in Everett. An FYI item published Monday on Page B1 misstated that the entire bowling center is smoke free. The restaurant and bowling lanes are smoke free.
