A Snohomish School District committee has narrowed a list of possible names for the second high school to three. The finalists are:

  • Eagle Ridge High School

  • Glacier Peak High School

  • Three Rivers High School

    The Snohomish School Board is to first consider the names at their meeting at 7:30 tonight. There will be time for public comment. Board members are to make a final decision at their May 23 meeting.

    Both meetings will be held at the district service center at 1601 Avenue D.

    The new high school is slated to open in fall 2008 off Cathcart Way.

    Diecast cars up for sale

    Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2100 in Everett was given a diecast car collection estimated to be worth about $40,000. The 500 cars will be up for silent auction from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at 2711 Oakes Ave. in Everett.

    Merry Haven Health Care Center in Snohomish will receive gifts Saturday when members of Snohomish Community Church plan to give them lap blankets and plants for the courtyard.

    The church choir will entertain in the afternoon.

    The Navy’s Blue Angel jets fly at subsonic speeds when performing. An Associated Press story on Page A3 Sunday about the death of a Blue Angel pilot in a crash in Florida on Saturday misstated the planes’ speed.
