Show off your voice at Variety House
Variety House talent hall offers a karaoke contest at 7 p.m. Thursdays through July 19 at 328 N. Olympic Ave. in Arlington.
Winners of the Evergreen Country Idol Karaoke Contest will compete at the Evergreen Country Idol semifinals.
The winner of the competition is expected to open for Keith Anderson and Josh Turner and perform at the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe and receive $1,000.
The Variety House is the only venue where those under age 21 may enter the contest.

Teams sought in Mill Creek
People are invited to compete in a three-on-three basketball tournament scheduled in July as part of the annual Mill Creek Festival.
Entries for the July 7 tournament are due by June 22.

The tournament has four divisions: men’s open, men’s 35 and over, women’s open and youth divisions. Fees are $100 for adult teams and $80 for youth.
Class helps teens earn service hours
Students can satisfy requirements for community volunteer hours at the Lynnwood Pool as junior lifeguards and swim instructor aides if they complete a class provided by the Lynnwood Aquatic Volunteer Program.
The program offers swimming instruction and life-saving skills for teens between ages 12 and 15.
The next class is scheduled to begin July 2. Cost is $30.
