Santa and Mrs. Claus are scheduled to welcome visitors at the Pilkenton house in Everett’s Riverside Neighborhood between 1 and 4 p.m. Saturday on 26th Street between Virginia and Baker streets. They plan to serve cookies and cider, hand out a few stuffed toys and pose for photos.

Concert planned on Camano Island

Steve Harris &Friends are set to perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Brindles Marketplace at Terry’s Corner, 848 N. Sunrise Blvd. on Camano Island. Admission is free. Wine, beer and food will be available.

Seniors offering pancakes, biscuits

The Stillaguamish Senior Center at 18308 Smokey Point Blvd. in Arlington plans a pancake breakfast for 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The menu features two choices: a meal of pancakes, eggs, and sausage or bacon; or a meal of biscuits and gravy. Coffee and juice are served.

The breakfast costs $3 for seniors, $3.50 for adults, and $2.50 for children under 12.

Donate goods for those in need

The Everett Gospel Mission and the Humane Society of Arlington are collecting items for homeless people and their pets from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Haggen’s cafeteria, 3711 88th St. NE, Marysville.

The groups hope to collect warm blankets, sleeping bags, winter coats, rainwear, pet food, socks, gloves and hats. Men’s items are particularly needed.

Donations can also be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the Everett Gospel Mission’s men’s shelter, 3711 Smith St., Everett.

Friends plan candle ceremony Sunday

The Snohomish County chapter of The Compassionate Friends plans a candle-lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. Sunday at United Methodist Church, 5600 64th St. NE, Marysville. The event coincides with the National Candlelight Observance of Children’s Memorial Day.
