Campaign finance topic of meetings

Journalist Bill Moyers narrates the short video “Clean Elections,” which will be shown at 7 tonight at Coupeville Elementary School, 6 S. Main St., Coupeville, Whidbey Island.

Washington Public Campaigns volunteer John Lynes of Port Townsend will lead a discussion about the Maine and Arizona models for publicly financed campaigns and how they can work in a nonpartisan way in our state.

The event is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Whidbey Island.

A representative from Washington Public Campaigns also will give a presentation at the 44th Legislative District Democrats’ meeting tonight. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Snohomish School District Resource Center, 1601 Ave. D, Snohomish.

Food bank marks 30 years of service

The Sky Valley Food Bank plans to celebrate its 30th anniversary at 5 this evening at 784 Village Way, Monroe.

The Herald will run its annual Ways to Give list on Nov. 19. Ways to Give lets readers see which charitable groups need help during the holiday season.
