The Lake Stevens Viking cheerleaders offered a Junior Viking Cheer Clinic for girls age 5 to 12. More than 100 girls participated and learned cheers, dances and the Viking fight song.

Langus park docks are closed
The rowing and boat launch docks at Langus Riverfront Park, 400 Smith Island Road, Everett, are closed through Oct. 6 for repairs. The decking on the docks will be replaced with nonslip recyclable materials, and the floats will be built from durable plastic.
Haunted house seeks workers
Get involved with a Haunted House this season.
Workers are needed in publicity, construction, tear-down, box office sales, make-up and costumes – also needed are actors, haunters and prop collectors. Workers are needed through Oct. 30 at the Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo.

Wear green Friday to support Tips
Celebrate Green Friday to mark the opening game of the Everett Silvertips season Friday.
Players and Herald staff will hand out complimentary copies of The Herald, which will be wrapped with Saturday’s Silvertips special section, between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at several downtown Everett intersections.
Everyone will be wearing green, and it’s hoped that fans will be similarly decked out.
Another 6,000 copies of The Herald will be given out at the game, in which the Tips will take on the Kelowna Rockets. Game time is 7:35 p.m.
