Applicants must have an associate of arts degree or 72 quarter college credits in 100 level or higher courses, or must pass a paraprofessional assessment offered by the district.
Substitute teachers with teaching certificates also are needed.

Child safety event Saturday
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is partnering with Wal-Mart and Abbott’s Ross Products Division to host “Smart Parent &Safe Baby” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Wal-Mart stores nationwide.
Parents and guardians will receive free child identification kits that include safety information for parents and guardians and a spot for an updated child photo.

Air Force feted at flight museum
The Museum of Flight presents Air Force Weekend today through Monday in conjunction with the Air Force Academy-University of Washington football game at Qwest Field in Seattle on Saturday.
The program will feature four F-15 Eagle fighter jets, flights over the stadium, Air Force pilots meeting with museum visitors and an Air Force-sponsored NASCAR race car.
The outdoor displays are free; the indoor programs are free with museum admission. The Museum of Flight is at 9404 E. Marginal Way S., Seattle. Take I-5 exit 158.

Correction
The former Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel in Everett will reopen this fall as a full-service Holiday Inn with a restaurant, lounge, indoor pool and spa. The type of Holiday Inn opening at the site was incorrect in a story on Page A1 Sunday about lodgings featured in a city tourism brochure.
