SPOKANE — The Spokane Regional Health District said Tuesday there’s been an increase in the number of cases of gonorrhea.
The district’s Anna Halloran told KREM-TV people who suspect they have the sexually transmitted disease should be tested so infections can be found and treated early.
The Spokesman-Review reported 181 cases of gonorrhea had been reported in Spokane County by the end of August, That’s up 44 percent from the same period last year. Statewide, gonorrhea cases are up 34 percent over 2012, with nearly 2,800 cases reported by the end of August in Washington.
