U.S. Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton, a member of President Bush’s Cabinet, comes to Everett this week as the keynote speaker for the Snohomish County Republican Party’s Lincoln Day Dinner at 6 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Everett Events Center.
Before becoming Interior Secretary, Norton was senior counsel at Brownstein, Hyatt &Farber P.C. in Washington, D.C. In 1991 she was elected attorney general for the state of Colorado. Before that she served as associate solicitor of the U.S. Department of Interior and as assistant to the deputy secretary of Agriculture.
Republican leaders from around the state will speak, including King County Councilwoman Jane Hague; Rep. George Nethercutt, R-Wash.; Sen. Dino Rossi, R-Issaquah; and King County Councilman Rob McKenna.
