GRANGER, Wash. — The City Council in the central Washington community of Granger has approved a six-month moratorium on the growing, processing or selling of recreational marijuana.
The council passed the rule at a meeting April 14.
In 2012 Washington voters legalized recreational pot use. Following that, many local governments passed ordinances banning marijuana businesses. Granger City Clerk Liliana Torres said the city previously had nothing in place regarding the businesses.
The council scheduled a May 26 public hearing on the issue.
