EVERETT — A new grant will help pay for Snohomish County’s arson-investigation dog.
Topper, a yellow Labrador retriever, has been working with the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office since 2009.
On Monday, Wells Fargo Insurance Services and the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company donated $9,798 to pay for Topper’s living and training expenses.
Topper can sniff out potential accelerants at a fire scene and signal that to his handler. He plays a vital role in fire investigations around Snohomish County, Fire Marshal Michael McCrary said.
