MONROE — A man was injured and taken to a hospital after a gun went off, reportedly by accident, Sunday afternoon near the Evergreen Fairgrounds.
Emergency responders were dispatched around 1:20 p.m. and found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg, Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue battalion chief Erik Liddiatt said. There were no other shots or injuries reported.
“It was just an accidental discharge of a gun into a gentleman’s leg,” he said.
The injury was not considered critical, and the man was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
