SNOHOMISH — A planned lane closure tonight on Highway 9 near Snohomish for culvert work has been canceled because of contractor scheduling problems.
Nightly closures on Highway 9 between Highway 96 and Marsh Road for other repair work, however, will continue through Saturday night.
Crews had planned to alternate one-way traffic at the intersection of Highway 9 and 152nd Street SE overnight Wednesday and into Thursday to install culverts. The work will be done at a later date.
Drivers should still plan for nightly closures between Highway 96 and Marsh Road as crews rebuild sections of the highway damaged by January flooding. The work began Sunday night. Crews plan to alternate one-way traffic from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday nights and from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights. Drivers should expect delays and allow extra time for their trips.
This work is part of a project to widen and add guardrails to Highway 9 from 176th to Marsh Road. For more information, visit http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/projects/sr9/176thtomarsh/.
