PUYALLUP — A large fire Tuesday night at a Puyallup Walmart store sent workers and shoppers scrambling to escape the smoky building.
KOMO-TV reports the fire started around 9:30 p.m.
Central Pierce Fire and Rescue says crews found a significant amount of thick, grey smoke coming out of the building when they arrived.
It’s unclear how or where the fire started, but Puyallup police said it was centered in the store’s Garden Center. Authorities say the store’s sprinkler system kept the fire in check, and it was under control within a few hours.
No injuries have been reported.
