EVERETT — Want to learn about the effort to plant Washington State University’s flag in Everett?
On Wednesday, WSU President Elson S. Floyd will host a reception at which he will discuss and answer questions on expanding the research university’s presence in the city.
The event is scheduled at 5:30 p.m. in the ballroom of the Hotel Monte Cristo, 1507 Wall St., Everett.
Two bills under consideration in the Legislature deal with the expansion of WSU into the city.
One calls for the Pullman-based university to craft a plan for establishing a branch campus in the city. The other directs the Higher Education Coordinating Board to determine the higher education needs for the region and then help define a role for WSU in filling them.
Reservations for the reception with Floyd are required by calling the WSU Alumni Association at 800-258-6978 or by e-mail to alumnievents@wsu.edu.
