LONGVIEW, Wash. — The Longview School District has agreed to pay $60,000 to settle a lawsuit brought by a teacher who claims a former principal intimidated and harassed her.
The Daily News reports the settlement came after a judge mediated the case brought by Cascade Middle School teacher Amy Johnson. District spokeswoman Sandy Catt say’s the agreement does not mean the district admits guilt.
Johnson had sued the district and former Principal Scott Moultine in January 2015 for emotional distress and humiliation. She claims Moultine discriminated against her based on her gender and age when she was a teacher and he was a principal at Northlake Elementary School.
Moultine resigned in 2013.
The district had initially denied knowing about Moultine’s alleged misconduct and claimed Johnson’s damages were outside the district’s control.
