OLYMPIA – The state Lottery Commission agreed Thursday to add a third day of play for its Lotto and Quinto games.
Starting Feb. 14, drawings for Lotto numbers and Quinto cards will be conducted on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Presently, drawings are held on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Commissioners hope that a third day of play will boost lottery revenues. When Oregon added a third draw, it registered a 20 percent jump in weekly ticket sales.
“We anticipate that while daily sales will slightly decrease, weekly sales will increase,” Lottery spokeswoman Jackie Coe said.
Lottery revenues are funneled into school construction projects and financing of the Seahawks and Mariners stadiums in Seattle.
