EVERETT — A 43-year-old Lynnwood woman exchanged gunfire with a 48-year-old male intruder after he forcibly entered her home Tuesday morning.
Around 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to reports of an assault with a weapon in the 900 block of 210th Place Southwest. The man fled the scene, according to a press release from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman was injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, the sheriff’s office said. The extent of her injuries is not known.
The sheriff’s office’s Violent Offender Task Force later located the suspect in Shoreline. He was taken into custody and transported to Harborview for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident.
Upon his release from the hospital, he is expected to be booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree assault and first-degree burglary, the sheriff’s office said.
The Snohomish County Major Crimes Unit is investigating the case.
