SEQUIM — The Clallam County sheriff’s office says a 20-year-old man suspected of stabbing his child’s mother turned himself in to authorities on Sunday morning.
Sgt. John Keegan says Deeon Gonzales was booked into the Clallam County Corrections Facility on investigation of attempted murder.
Authorities had been searching for him since Saturday afternoon.
Police say witnesses reported seeing Gonzales stab the woman in an alley in the Carlsborg area west of Sequim. Witnesses said he fled toward his home with a child, who was later found safe at the home.
Keegan says Gonzales and the woman were no longer dating and that he was “angry with her.” The two have a child, who is about 1 1⁄2.
The woman was taken to the hospital. Keegan says she was in stable condition.
