TULALIP — A 28-year-old Tulalip man was in serious condition at Providence Everett Medical Center’s Colby campus with two broken arms, a broken cheekbone and other facial injuries after being beaten with a baseball bat Saturday night.
The man was beaten at a home in the 2800 block of Joseph Charles Loop Road on the Tulalip Reservation, said Tulalip Tribal Police Chief Jay Goss Jr. The incident was reported about 6 p.m.
"The motivation was a family issue between two men and the wife," he said.
Goss said police suspect the woman’s husband, who police were searching for Saturday evening.
Gold Bar
Man arrested: A 50-year-old Gold Bar man was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault Saturday after his vehicle allegedly struck a 16-year-old’s bike on U.S. 2 near Gold Bar.
The Gold Bar teen jumped out of the way just before his bike was hit and was not injured, said Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen.
The man allegedly had threatened to kill the boy earlier in the day, Jorgensen said. After hitting the boy’s bike, the man allegedly fired a shot at the boy, missing him, she said.
The man was believed to be upset because he thought the teen was responsible for illegal activity in the area, Jorgensen said. The incident was reported at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
The man was arrested without incident at 7 p.m. at a Gold Bar residence and booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
