COULEE CITY — Authorities say a man jumped to his death from a cliff at the Dry Falls State Park Visitor Center and suicide is suspected.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Department says that shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday several people saw a middle-aged man suddenly jump over a chain barrier to the cliff and fall about 200 feet.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The park is about five miles south of Coulee City.
The department says in a statement that the man apparently committed suicide.
The body is on the custody of the Grant County Coroner. His identity is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
