SATSOP — The Washington State Patrol says an 81-year-old Elma man was fatally injured while standing on the shoulder of road at Satsop.
The patrol says Roland Ray Scott was standing behind a pickup truck Monday afternoon when an SUV pulled up and pinned him between the vehicles.
Grays Harbor County sheriff’s Chief Criminal Deputy Dave Pimental said Scott was getting some gloves from the truck for a family cattle operation and the car was driven by his wife of more than 50 years — Beverly Scott.
KBKW and KXRO reported that family members and emergency responders performed CPR but Roland Scott died while being prepared for a medical flight to a Seattle hospital.
Scott was the father of Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott, so the state patrol is conducting the investigation.
