ARLINGTON — A man was suspected of drunken driving in a fatal crash that killed an Arlington woman in Skagit County.
Around 10 p.m. Friday, an Oak Harbor man was driving north in a Chevrolet Silverado on Highway 9, according to Washington State Patrol.
Ashlyn Stroud, 20, was headed south in a 2020 Jeep Compass, near Bassett Road. The Chevy crossed the center line and struck the Jeep head-on, state troopers wrote.
Both vehicles were totaled.
The woman was taken to Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she died.
McArthur Jackson, 56, was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, according to the state patrol. He was under investigation for DUI and vehicular homicide.
