CHEHALIS — The autopsy on a man shot to death by a neighbor in the Lewis County town of Salkum showed that he was shot twice in the front, not in the back, as some witnesses reported.
The Chronicle reports the autopsy results Tuesday in the death of Travis Shive, 28, may help sheriff’s detectives determine whether the Saturday night shooting was in self-defense.
Shive had accused the 56-year-old neighbor of shooting a dog. Shive was hit in the abdomen and upper left shoulder and died of internal bleeding.
