TULALIP — Crews have repaired a damaged water main that briefly cut off water this week in a Tulalip neighborhood, city officials said Friday.
Workers used an “intertie” to quickly restore water service Tuesday at homes in the affected area of Marine Drive to 74th Street NE on 27th Avenue NE, city spokesperson Connie Mennie said.
However, Quil Ceda Elementary as well as Heritage and Legacy high schools remained without water as of Friday.
City officials were installing a valve to flush and disinfect the lines Friday. Water samples will be taken to a laboratory for testing.
There was no time estimate for water restoration in the schools, Mennie said.
The break in a 12-inch water main came around 5 a.m. Tuesday, causing reduced water pressure west of Quil Ceda Creek, Mennie said. A cause had not been determined.
