EVERETT — An early morning house fire on New Year’s Day left one family displaced in Marysville.
Around 1:45 a.m. Thursday, fire crews responded to reports of heavy smoke and flames that engulfed the home and spread to a recreational vehicle in the backyard in the 9100 block of 61st Drive Northeast, according to a Marysville Fire District press release.
The home’s occupants, comprising two adults, three children and four pets, were able to evacuate the home without injury, the post said. The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
First responders transported one firefighter to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett after he sustained minor injuries from the blaze, the post said. He was released and is recovering at home.
Around 3 a.m., crews confirmed the fire was fully extinguished, the post said. The cause and an estimate of the damage are under investigation.
North County Regional Fire Authority, Tulalip Bay Fire Department, Everett Fire Department, Snohomish County Fire District No. 22, Snohomish County Fire District No. 19 and Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue, the post said.
