A Marysville man was charged Friday with luring and indecent exposure after he allegedly admitted trying to get teenage girls to climb into his car and sexually harassing an espresso stand barista.
Micah Joseph Durbin, 28, reportedly admitted he was the man who March 29 tried to get two girls, one 15, the other 16, to get into his car as they were walking home from school, Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Craig Matheson said in court papers.
The girls reported the incidents. Detectives with the sheriff’s office investigated, looking for the driver of a white four-door car.
On April 2, Durbin pulled up in his car at a drive-through espresso stand and allegedly exposed his genitals to the 27-year-old woman working there, Matheson said. The man drove away, but she wrote down the license plate number.
Durbin was identified as the suspect, and all three of the victims reportedly identified him when shown a photo montage, Matheson said.
Detectives caught up with Durbin three days later at the Marysville jail, where he was serving time on an unrelated matter. He admitted the incidents, Matheson alleged.
"Defendant stated that his intent was never to cause alarm" but instead to find some "companionship," the prosecutor wrote.
Luring is a felony; indecent exposure a misdemeanor.
