MARYSVILLE — An armed robber forced employees at a Marysville McDonalds into the restaurant’s walk-in freezer before stealing money from the store early Tuesday.
The robbery happened shortly after midnight Tuesday at the McDonalds at 9702 State Ave., said Marysville police Cmdr. Rob Lamoureux.
Just after closing for the night, employees were confronted by a man with a handgun, Lamoureux said. The man ordered everyone into the freezer except for the store manager, who he made open the store’s safe. The robber then took the manager to the freezer and told the employees not to come out.
About five minutes later, the employees left the freezer and called 911. No one was injured.
Police searched for the man but were unable to find him.
Witnesses told police the man was black, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, 170 to 180 pounds, and wore black clothing and a ski mask.
Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call 360-651-5060.
