ARLINGTON — A large search-and-rescue effort ended successfully Sunday when an Arlington man was found after being reported missing and depressed after losing his job.
The 57-year-old man, whose name was not released, was found at 11:20 a.m. Sunday within a mile from his home in an area off Arlington Heights Road east of Highway 9. He was in good condition and examined by Arlington Fire Department medics before returning to his home, Snohomish County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said.
The man’s wife alerted the sheriff’s office Saturday evening when she hadn’t heard all day from her husband, who had not taken his medication and had left their home with the couple’s Australian shepherd.
A search was called involving about 45 people including sheriff’s office personnel, crews from Snohomish County Search and Rescue, and members of King County’s K-9 unit and search and rescue workers from Pierce, Skagit and Whatcom counties. The search also involved a search and rescue helicopter, Jorgensen said.
