MONROE — A Monroe-area family of four was displaced Monday after a fire at their home.
The fire was reported about 4:30 p.m. in the 13400 block of Forest View Avenue SE, about two miles northwest of downtown, officials said.
The fire started in the garage and spread to the two-story house. Small explosions were reported due to paint cans and ammunition stored in the garage.
Nearby homes were evacuated. No one was hurt.
The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office and Monroe police were investigating. The house was believed to be a total loss.
Crews responded from throughout east Snohomish County and north King County.
