More snow is falling in Snohomish County this morning and forecasters predict another couple of inches of accumulation before noon.
Roads remain treacherous and officials again are asking people to stay home or leave the house prepared for extreme winter driving conditions.
“We’re not out of the woods,” Washington State Patrol trooper Keith Leary said.
The National Weather Service in Seattle is forecasting a weak convergence zone over the western part of the county through this morning.
That likely will bring more snow showers tapering around noon, forecasters said.
Temperatures the remainder of the day are expected to hover around freezing, bringing little relief to snow and ice covered roadways.
Leary said main roads and freeways are compact snow and ice. Many side streets remain covered in deep snow and ice.
People who don’t have all-wheel, or four-wheel drive vehicles or tire chains are being asked not to drive.
Community Transit is on limited service with several routes diverted.
