LIND — A woman was arrested for investigation of animal cruelty after authorities seized more than 100 dogs and found carcasses of four others at a home in the Eastern Washington town of Lind.
The Adams County sheriff’s office, acting on a complaint, seized 111 Australian shepherds Saturday. Two of them later had to be euthanized.
Undersheriff John Hunt says the rest generally were in poor condition.
Sharon Provost, 71, who lived at the home, was arrested for investigation of first-degree animal cruelty. Hunt says she was booked into jail and later released.
K9 Pet Rescue of Othello and Ritzville will take care of the dogs until a court decides what to do with them.
Lind is in Adams County, northeast of the Tri-Cities.
