MUKILTEO — Police are looking for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident Tuesday afternoon that sent one victim to the hospital.
Just before 4 p.m., someone called 911 to report a sport utility vehicle being driven dangerously near an elementary school on 76th Street, Mukilteo police Cmdr. Chuck Macklin said.
Witnesses said the SUV struck a brown van and forced it off the road and into a telephone pole, Macklin said.
The driver of the van was injured and taken to the hospital. He was treated and released.
The SUV driver drove off, ran a stop sign and refused to pull over when people tried to flag the driver down, police said.
Police describe the SUV as a newer model with no plates and a temporary license in the rear window. The SUV likely has front-end damage and paint transfer from the brown van.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Mukilteo Police Department at 425-263-8100 or call 911.
