New publisher at Ellensburg Daily Record

ELLENSBURG — A new publisher and general manager have been announced for the Daily Record newspaper in Ellensburg.

Heather Hernandez will be the publisher, adding to her current duties as president and publisher of Skagit Publishing. Joanna Markell will be the general manager and editor, overseeing day-to-day operations in Ellensburg.

The new team replaces outgoing Publisher Tyler Miller, who will be the group publisher for newspapers in Helena and Butte, Mont.

Mike Gugliotto, president and CEO of Pioneer News Group, announced the news Monday in Ellensburg. The changes take effect Oct. 21.

The Daily Record and Skagit Publishing are part of the Seattle-based Pioneer News Group. The Daily Record marked its 100th anniversary of providing local news to Kittitas County in 2009.
