WENATCHEE — The Transportation Department says the North Cascades Highway will reopen at 8 p.m. Friday. It has been closed by snow since Dec. 11.
Crews have been clearing snow for the past month along the 37-mile stretch of Highway 20 between Diablo and Mazama.
Crews working from both sides met Wednesday at Washington Pass and then continued widening and cutting safety pull-out areas.
The Transportation Department says drivers can expect the roadway to be bare and dry or bare and wet when it reopens.
