Granite Falls: Granite Park moratorium hearing tonight
A public hearing is planned for 7 tonight on a proposal to continue a moratorium on building permits for a portion of the new development of Granite Park. The meeting is at City Hall, 206 S. Granite Ave. The moratorium was put in place to allow the city to update its flooding regulations to comply with federal law.

Lakewood: Elementary school principal is named
Ryan Henderson is the new principal at Lakewood Elementary School. The hiring process included a community forum.
Henderson has worked in the district for several years. He has a master’s degree in educational administration from Western Washington University.
Tulalip: New tribal housing celebrated
Five Tulalip tribal families who have built their own homes through a federal program are scheduled to move into their new residences on Thursday.
The homes will be open to the public for viewing at 1 p.m. with a ceremony scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Mission Highlands housing development, off Turk Drive on the Tulalip Indian Reservation.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture-funded Self-Help Housing program exchanges the labor of owner-builders for subsidized low-interest loans with no down payment.
