SEATTLE — Organizers of Occupy Seattle say Seattle Central Community College will tolerate protesters camping on campus.
Occupy Seattle released a memo attributed to SCCC president Paul Kilpatrick saying that legal ambiguities allow the encampment.
The college’s administration had previously warned against camping on campus, saying it would disrupt students and a farmer’s market. They had said they could call authorities.
An email to a college spokeswoman was not immediately returned Saturday.
Occupy Seattle plans to move its camp from Westlake Park to the college on Saturday, followed by a Halloween party.
