EVERETT — 46-year-old man died in a single-vehicle, Utility Terrain Vehicle rollover crash near Index on Sunday evening.
At around 10:15 p.m. Sunday, Collision Investigation Unit detectives responded to the crash at Index Galena Road and NF Road 6310. The UTV was traveling at high speed when the driver lost control while going over a hill crest. The unrestrained driver hit a guardrail and was ejected, according to a Snohomish County Sheriff press release.
Sky Valley Fire Department pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
Detectives are working to determine the cause of the crash. Speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors, the release said.
Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine positive identification of the deceased and manner of death.
